Laura A. Hays, Founder and President of Trek Physician Solutions, Inc. has twenty years experience in Physician Recruitment and Alignment, with an emphasis in Large Healthcare Systems, Academic Institutions and Group Practices.
Prior to founding Trek, Ms. Hays was the Vice President of Client Development for over 10 years with Cejka Search, one of the nation’s largest retained healthcare search and consulting firms. Through this role, Ms Hays consulted with over 1,000 healthcare institutions. Her vast experience provides clients with broad-based perspectives on how healthcare organizations have addressed the challenges of maximizing physician relationships. She brings proven strategies for success in today’s highly regulated, increasingly complex and competitive environment.
Ms. Hays started her career as a physician specialist in 1989 with Synergon, a division of Spectrum Healthcare a contract management company which contracted with physicians and hospitals to provide high quality emergency medicine physicians at time when demand far exceeded supply. Her passion for healthcare started much earlier as during her high school and college years Ms. Hays worked summers and after school at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha where she grew up.
Her vast experience provides clients with broad-based perspectives on how healthcare organizations have addressed the challenges of maximizing physician relationships.
Ms. Hays served for five years as the “Career Counselor” for Medical Economics. She has been invited to speak at national and regional meetings on the topic of “Changing Physician Dynamics” and “The Path to Quality Physician Hires….it’s a journey not a sprint.” Ms. Hays is also invited to present to residents and fellows on “Evaluating Career Opportunities.”
Ms. Hays is an avid recreational athlete and competes in triathlons and timed running events. She has trained children ages seven to ten for Ironkids, including her own two daughters. Two of her most cherished athletic events includes safely leading a team of twenty-six runners in the Inaugural St. Louis to Peoria Run, a 186-mile, 36-hour relay across the Midwest to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and participating with her youngest daughter in “Tri for the Cure” to raise money for breast cancer.
